Syndrome is a video that explores the affective and cognitive tensions felt during moments of dissociation. Against a background of shrill flashes, a monotonous voice describes what dissociation can look like before fracturing and multiplying to create a buzz that echoes internal contradictions. Syndrome seeks not only to create a visceral experience in viewers but also to give voice and visibility to non-normative phenomenological experiences.
