Annie (Kalli Tant) is a recent graduate who has spent six months caring full-time for her grandfather. When he dies, she is broke, unemployed, and unable to afford a funeral. Refusing an unbearable council public health funeral, she keeps his death a secret and turns to the local parish priest, becoming entangled with Father Adam (Johnny Vegas).
