What was first a theatre performance, with a succesful tour through 48 theatres together with Leif de Leeuw Band and film collective The Transketeers, now finds new life on the silver screen. But don't fear: the film is just as poignant as the stage and stays musical. Using music, personal anecdotes, and documentary images from present and past, a story about identity, loss and gains, and the search for a voice unfolds.
