О фильме
In an old rural church in Cusco, a choir of Quechua-speaking children performs a 17th-century Quechua Baroque song, the first polyphonic work written and published in the New World: “HANAC PACHAP CUSSICUININ” (Joy of Heaven), a Quechua religious hymn that encapsulates the parallels, similarities, and cultural encounter between Pre-Hispanic America and the Old World, Europe. The magic lies in the fact that, almost four hundred years after its creation, we had the opportunity to record this performance of the Baroque Quechua religious hymn in the very place where it was written and published in 1631: the Baroque Sistine Church of Andahuaylillas, Quispicanchi, Cusco.
