Sleep apnea is marked by unnoticed disruptions such as interrupted breathing, snoring, and irregular heart rhythms, all of which silently affect the body. Inspired by this condition, Awake Apnea explores the unnoticed sensory phenomena that permeate everyday urban life. Built from recordings of hums, drones, creaks, and other ambient noises that linger in the ear's blind spot, the film pairs these forgotten sounds with flickering images, visual aberrations, auras, and bodily perceptions rather than conventional points of view. Together, they evoke the subtle yet persistent ways in which imperceptible stimuli shape our bodies and consciousness.
