To his surprise, the princess actually desires to escape her mother, Queen Brahne, whose sudden thirst for war is tearing the mist-shrouded continent apart.Joined by Vivi, a fragile young Black Mage struggling with his own existence, and Steiner, a stubbornly loyal knight, the group is plunged into a world-spanning adventure. As they uncover the dark, alien truth behind the production of magic weapons, Zidane and his friends must confront deeply personal questions of mortality, identity, and the meaning of life, before a terrifying cosmic force erases all of creation.
